MORMECK DECISIONS IBRAGIMOV

Last night in France, former two-time cruiserweight champion, and now IBF #10, and WBA #12 heavyweight rated contender Jean Marc Mormeck, improved to (36-4, 22KO’s), picked up the vacant WBA International Heavyweight Title, and took a major step towards challenging for a heavyweight world championship, with a twelve round decision win over Timur Ibragimov (30-3-1, 16KO’s).

Mormeck started a bit slow, but got things going in the third and controlled the action for the rest of the fight, winning by scores of 116-111, 116-112, 113-115.  It was a huge win for Mormeck, who hopes to land a shot against one of the Klitschko brothers, or David Haye sometime in 2011.
