Roman Andreev grew up in Volsk, Saratov Region where he took his first steps as a boxer. After showing good performances in youth national championships and becoming a member of the youth Russian amateur national team, he was invited to Moscow as a young prospect for the amateur team. In Moscow, Roman met new coach Zufer Husyainov who has worked with him in tandem since then. Roman won many national and international tournaments. He has got 150 amateur fights with 135 wins on his resume.

At the age of 22, Roman decided to turn pro and fastly gained the national recognition for his aggressive style as well as for KO power in both hands. In the end of 2013, Roman won his first WBA PABA lightweight title that he currently holds.

Roman’s best supporters have always been his wife Irina and young son George.
